The Mariners selected 26-year old righty swinging 2B Eric Farris in the minor league phase of the Rule 5 Draft away from the Brewers. Farris played in 13 games for the Brewers last year and he was 1 for 8 (.125 avg, .347 OPS) with 1 run scored and 1 stolen base. He also played in 131 games in AAA-ball last year in which he was 138 of 483 (.286 avg, .706 OPS) with 63 runs scored, 7 homers, 31 RBIs and 35 stolen bases. Farris has now played in 14 games in his first 2 years in the majors and he is 1 for 9 (.111 avg, .311 OPS) with 1 run scored and 1 stolen base. Farris will get a shot to win a bench job for the Mariners next spring.
